We look to Our Lady as the model for living a life of prayer. In fact, we look to her for everything we need to know and do, that she may keep us in her grace and holiness and lead us to what she wants for us. We learn to have total trust in our Lady, always hoping she is pleased with us.
We, who aim to have union with Jesus in every prayer, action and moment of our lives, nevertheless miss many promptings of His holy spirit, so we devote our lives to listening to him, like Mary, and so avail of every opportunity. This requires all that we have and are. Ours is first and foremost a life consecrated to the glorification of God.
“O Mary of graces and mother of Christ,
O may you direct me and guide me aright.
O may you protect me from Satan’s control,
And may you protect me in body and soul”.
