Faith in Jesus enables us to keep our rule which bids us live a life of allegiance to Jesus Christ, with a pure heart and a good conscience.
Since we profess to keep his commandments and to live by his words, especially, loving God and our neighbour, it makes sense that we try to keep close to the God who made the commandments.
So trusting always in His goodness and loving-kindness, we seek to live in His company, depending on him and not on ourselves. Carmel becomes our school, where we learn all of this.
When we refuse to look back or give up, Christ Himself comes to us and makes His home in us.
He first called us and chose us for this way of life and when we respond with all our hearts, then we do become his beloved brides.
“Firmly, I believe and truly,
God is three and God is One,
And I next acknowledge duly
Manhood taken by the Son.
And I trust and hope most fully
In that manhood crucified,
And each thought and deed unruly
Do to death as He has died”.
